Abd al-Wahid bin Asher (990 AH - 1040 AH) is Abu Muhammad Abd al-Wahid bin Ahmed bin Ali ibn Asher, known as Ibn Asher, and he is one of the grandsons of Sheikh Abi al-Abbas ibn Asher al-Salawi (d.765 AH).

He is considered one of the most prominent scholars of the Maliki school of thought and is best known for his system of "the appointed guide to the essentials of the religious sciences" in which he organized Maliki jurisprudence, in addition to the chapter on belief and mysticism, which is an important reference for scholars of the Maliki school.
And Ibn Asher contributed in providing the legal cover for the movement of the Mujahid al-Ayashi
